When it comes to interstellar travel, both Olivia Rodrigo and Grimes agree: No boys allowed.
In one Video Q&A Posted by Netflix on Saturday (November 2), the “Vampire” singer showed off some of her favorite tank tops she wore on tour. When it came to Britney Spears' “dump him” tank top, Rodrigo shared a very specific red flag he has when dating.
“This is a very weirdly specific question I ask guys on first dates. I always ask them if they think they'd like to go into space,” he said in the clip. “And if they say yes, I'm not dating them. I just think if you want to go into space, you're a little full of yourself. I think it's just weird.”
Responding to the singer's comments, Grimes took her on Account Xagreeing with Rodrigo's sentiment. “It's true,” she captioned a Pop Crave post about the video. “Only women should go into space.”
Fans were quick to point out that Grimes seemed to be throwing not-so-subtle shade at her ex Elon Musk. The owner of the X also founded the space technology company SpaceX and has been open about his love and desire to travel into space. “He has the most experience of most,” one fan he wrote in response to her comment.
The Rodrigo Q&A comes right after her concert special premieres on Netflix, Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World tour. In an interview with Bulletin board around the film's release, Rodrigo said she felt “so proud” of her tour and felt the need to share it with the world. “It was happening at the right time for me and my career and I wanted to capture that,” he explained. “I'm really excited to have a kind of time capsule — like I could show my kids, 'Hey, when your mom was 21, this is what she did every night!' I think it's going to be a lot of fun.”
