Gucci Mane is an artist who will use pop culture moments to inform the direction of his music, most recently seen with his 2023 single “Woppenheimer.” The rapper and writer addressed a specific culture-shattering moment regarding Diddy with the drop of his new Track “TakeDat (No Diddy)”.
Gucci Mane , 44, released “TakeDat (No Diddy)” on Wednesday (April 24) with production from TP808 and TPerc. The song is very much Big Guwop yelling “No Diddy” at the end of his hook and bars.
More from “TakeDat”:
I got a young Miami b*tch from the city
I spend money like a trick, not Didi
I'm rocking you yellow diamonds, not Diddy
But she can't be underage, no Diddy (Ugh)
Extendo with switch, no Diddy
People pass pills like frisbees
And the trap goes up on Wednesday
I'm in a bag, it's a Monica Lewinsky
I'm baby mamas rappers, not Diddy (Take it)
Got these n*ggas with feelings like Drizzy (Take that)
The first flashbacks to the track have surfaced on X, formerly Twitter, with some fans noting where Gucci is trying to take the direction of the song. The results so far seem to be mixed, but we've got reactions from all sides, along with the piece, below.
