For years Gunna has been fending off claims that he went Tekashi 6ix9ine on Young Thug and his YSL family, and even though he won't be taking the stand against his former crew in their upcoming RICO trial, fans are still torn on whether or The rapper reportedly didn't speak when he agreed.
Now the rapper is looking to clear up any misconceptions about how he managed to avoid a five-year prison sentence and regain his freedom in 2022 and in a recent interview with XXLGunna tried to explain that the general public has been misled about his appeal to Alfred, which has prompted some of his rap peers like 21 Savage, Lil Baby and others to throw darts at him for allegedly giving him a dime .
Per XXL:
“None of these rappers, they're on the case,” Gunna told XXL. “They don't legally know what's going on.”
He added that he had spoken “peacefully” with “three or four of these guys” but declined to elaborate.
“I definitely feel like everyone has been misled,” Gunna added. “And like, you know, when you're being led astray, you have the choice to follow or make your own decisions. And it shows now. Are you a fan or are you neutral to say, 'I don't know what their job is or what they're really into.'”
Regardless of how his Hip-Hop peers and fans may feel about the current state of the street, Gunna went on to release his first album after prison. A gift and a curse in 2023, which further divided fans as many loved the album while others refused to listen to it on principle. However, the album debuted at number 3 on Billboard's Top 200 chart and garnered more than 100 million streams for records from the album.
Apparently he still has support in those streets.
So Gunna took to Instagram to announce his next album One from Wun is on the way and although he didn't give a release date, the reception in the comments has been mostly positive as his days will be in his corner. At least until someone like Young Thug comes out and confirms that Gunna did indeed become a coat. If that happens, who knows how the Hip-Hop community would react.
