Following her performance at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday (September 11), Halsey made sure to set the record straight about her relationship with Avan Jogia online.
On X, the pop news blog Pop Base was posted a photo of Halsey with the actor-singer, writing that the star said she “hopes to marry her boyfriend Avan Jogia.” The post came after Halsey's chat MI! News on the awards red carpet and said “I hope so” when asked if the two will marry.
Halsey then tweeted the post and corrected Jogia's title. “*** fiance Avan Jogia,” they wrote.

The pair were first spotted together in June 2023, sparking a wave of speculation from fans that they might be in a relationship. In October of that year, the pair confirmed they were dating in a since-deleted Instagram post on Halsey's page, which showed the former Victorious actress posing in a series of leather-clad looks.
The “Ego” singer first sparked engagement rumors from fans when she commented on Jogia Instagram post on Monday, where the singer made sure to claim him in the comments. “MINE!” she wrote.
Elsewhere at the VMAs, Halsey wowed the crowd with a performance of their latest single, “Ego,” where they transformed the stage at New York's UBS Arena into a small garage. Along with special guest Victoria De Angelis of rock band Måneskin, the self-proclaimed Great Imitator came out to her '90s-inspired track with a garage band behind her.
