The set earned 93,000 equivalent albums in the United States in the week ending Oct. 31, according to Luminate. That figure includes 81,000 through traditional album sales.
Halsey previously ruled the top alternative albums for a week each If I can't have love, I want power in 2021 and Badlands in 2015.
The new LP is Halsey's first No. 1 on Top Rock & Alternative Albums since the 2022 chart included releases that are alternative but not firmly in the rock genre.
As previously mentioned, The Great Imitator debuts at No. 2 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Selling Albums of All Genres charts. Of its total sales, 26,000 are on vinyl, sparking its No. 3 start on Vinyl Albums.
In the lead up to the collection's release on October 25, Halsey posted photos on social media impersonating artists and songs from the album that inspired her, including David Bowie, Cher, Dolly Parton, Britney Spears and Bruce Springsteen.
Two pieces of The Great Impersonator appear on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. “Panic Attack” debuts at No. 25, led by 2.7 million official US streams, while “Ego,” the set's current radio single, ranks at No. 30 with 2.8 million radio plays audience, 1.4 million streams and 1,000 downloads sold. (The latter debuted at its No. 24 high in September.)
“Ego” peaked at No. 25 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart and No. 28 on Pop Airplay. Previous single “Lucky” spent a week on the second chart at No. 40 in August.
