Sure Styles would find a way to watch The Tonight Show from wherever he was celebrating his 30th birthday, the comedian shared his poetic tribute to the musician
What kind of are you buying a birthday present for someone who probably already has everything they need or could ever want? According to Jack Whitehall, you get them a poem. During an appearance at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon On Thursday, the British comedian and actor celebrated Harry Styles' birthday — an unofficial national holiday — with a few spins on One Direction's breakup and Simon Cowell's ever-changing looks.
“Harry, oh sweet Harry, you're a man of absolute class/My north, my south, if, when, my elbow and my ass/I first saw you on X-Factor, the silly reality show in 2010, almost three Simon Cowell faces ago ,” Whitehall recalled. “A twinkle in your eye, your hair was like a mop/A high voice, your testicles haven't dropped yet/You dazzled the world with your boy One Direction/A non-stop rise, like an unwanted morning… I can say that word slowly the evening;”
Whitehall recalled the day One Direction broke up, adding: “I screamed, I cursed, I cried/I haven't been this sad since the day Mufasa died…”. But even as he mourned One Direction and defied FCC guidelines, the comedian returned to the celebration he had prepared. “Your solo career blossomed, the sky was the limit/Stadiums and number one's, a soaring watermelon,” he observed. “You've branched out into acting, try your hand at that too/Just please don't ever try stand-up or I won't know what to do/And so today you turn 30 and I have one last thing to say/Peace don't copy the other Harry and never run away.”
Whitehall was sure Styles would get the birthday present, aptly titled “Turning 30 in Styles,” wherever he was celebrating. “He watches all my evening performances,” he assured them Tonight show audience.
