- Mashup: “Teardrops on My Guitar” x “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart”
- “But dad I love him”
Note: As Swift's newest album, Tormented poets it deserves to be the finale. And while, upon first listen, the record may not seem like it has enough pops ready to close the show, the songs above have 100% the potential to become the high-energy moments the Eras tour commands. Just imagine the theatrical potential of “Who's Afraid,” the afterlife of an actual crowd shouting “More!” during “Broken Heart” and confetti falling from the sky during the final chorus of “But Daddy…” We imagine gothic graphics, desks, typewriter scenery, period costumes and lightning bolts during this unit.
Now, for this mashup. It's absurd that Swift has never included any songs from her 2006 self-titled debut album – aka her first era – on the main setlist of the Eras tour. But it's not too late to fix it.
Picture this: The lights go down after Swift performs “Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?” Costumes are changed, a tiger cage and other circus-themed props are removed. Then the songwriter — her silhouette barely visible under the dull glow of a teal spotlight — sings a cappella the final chorus of the first song about fake smiles in the face of sadness she ever released: “Teardrops on My Guitar.” Emphasis on the verse, “the only one who fills me you break my heart.”
After he leaves on the last line – “Dreu's looking at me, I'm faking a smile so she won't” – the stage comes alive once more as the crowd's colorful bracelets disappear, an explosion of sound filling the venue. “I can read your mind,” Swift gushes, surrounded by dancers as the lights suddenly come up, revealing one last gorgeous costume. “She's having the time of her life…”
Once that's done, she'll move on to the finale, ditch the haters, embrace her truest fans, and proudly proclaim her love for the man of her dreams with a smash hit “But Daddy I Love Him,” fading away from the stage before the spectators. they have even finished the song together. Flap.
