Canadian hard-rockers and country hard-rockers team up for 'Save Me', 'Truck Bed' and more on CMT performance series
It may exist no other natural pairing for CMT Crossroads than Nickelback and Hardy. Both appeal to country and rock audiences, both collaborated with producer Joey Moi, and both have a song called “Rockstar.” On April 6, they'll combine their respective styles — and their single “Rockstar” — for an episode of CMT's crossover performance series.
Taped in Nashville earlier in March, the episode features Hardy and Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger trading verses on Nickelback's “Save Me” and “Animals,” and Hardy raps “Truck Bed” and “Give Heaven Some Hell.” .
CMT Crossroads: Nickelback & Hardy premieres Saturday, April 6 at 8 p.m./ET and is part of the network's CMT Music Awards weekend programming block. On Friday, a new episode of CMT Storytellers debuts with Little Big Town, performing hits like “Better Man,” “Boondocks” and “Girl Crush.” A CMT Music Awards-themed installment of the weekly music video countdown show, CMT Hot 20 Countdown, airs on Saturday mornings. On Sunday, a live CMT Awards red carpet special begins at 7 p.m./ET.
The CMT Music Awards, hosted by Kelsea Ballerini, airs Sunday, April 7 at 8 PM/ET on CBS from the Moody Theater in Austin, Texas. Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Zach Bryan and Ballerini are among the nominees.
Hardy is nominated for Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year for “Truck Bed”. It will start “Quit!!” tour in May, a groundbreaking journey that runs through July and features Kip Moore, Travis Denning, Ella Langley and Stephen Wilson Jr. on selected dates.
