To accompany the tour announcement, Horse Jumper of Love released “Snow Angel.” Yet another single featuring notable indie stars, the song cranks up the distortion to deliver a wall of crunching guitar chords and howling melodies. Meanwhile, the voices remain dejected and discreet.
“A lot of my songs start with an image and then a stream of consciousness takes over from there,” said vocalist Dimitri Giannopolous. “I had the idea of a snow angel melting in the sun. It comes from the first poem of real air called 'Snow'. Through this piece, David Berman explores the idea of snow in a metaphorical and abstract way. He relates that the outdoors sounds like a room when it's snowing and a farmer shoots snow angels, vulnerable and isolated…he wanted to take advantage of the feeling of being outside in the cold and wanting something.”
The video is completed with a music video directed by Lance Bangs that finds the band obscured by water, which is actually just snow in a different form. Watch it below.
