South Korean band ILLIT has only released one official single so far, and this song is now officially a hit on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
act's “Magnetic” debuts at No. 91 on the April 20 Hot 100 with 6.2 million official US streams (up 1%) and 428,000 radio plays (up 43%) from 5- April 11, according to Luminate.
The song is also a success internationally. Ranked No. 3 on Billboard Global Excl. US chart, a week after reaching No. 2, and rises 8-6 on the Billboard Global 200. It additionally reached No. 1 Advertising signHong Kong Songs, Singapore Songs, South Korean Songs and Taiwan Songs.
“Magnetic” appears on ILLIT's four-track debut EP Super Real Me, was released on March 25th on BELIFT LAB (a sub-label of HYBE Corporation). The set sits at No. 6 on the World Albums chart after peaking at No. 5 a week earlier. It became the group's first total entry on their debut earlier this month.
TikTok has been an important factor in the development of the song, as a part of its sound has been soundtracked more than 375,000 clips on the platform. The team itself boasts over 2 million TikTok followers.
ILLIT was created through the Korean reality show JTBC RU Next?and consists of members Iroha, Minju, Moka, Wonhee and Yunah.
ILLIT is the second K-pop group to chart on the Hot 100 in 2024, following LE SSERAFIM with “Easy” in March. Overall, ILLIT is the ninth K-pop group to reach the Hot 100, following (in order of first appearance) Wonder Girls, BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, NewJeans, FIFTY FIFTY, Stray Kids and LE SSERAFIM.
