House of Krazees is an innovative horror trio from Detroit, Michigan consisting of The ROC along with Mr Bones & Hektik. Presented 31 years ago on the strength of their first 2 EPs Home Sweet Home & Home boundthe next one Epidemic & their debut full length Pumpkin season The back-to-back would later become a classic in the early bad-shit scene, followed by the sophomore effort Head injury until their breakup in 1997. ROC would form HaLFBrEEd with Skrapz releasing their debut The night they came home nicknamed HoK as opposed to Mr. Bones & Hektik signed to Psychopathic Records as Insane Clown Posse protégés, renaming themselves Jamie Madrox & Monoxide of open duo Twiztid. HaLFBrEEd disbanded in 2000 after CONTAMINATION Despite becoming another horror staple and Twiztid releasing their first 9 albums through the hatchet, they left in late 2012 and formed their own label Majik Ninja Entertainment a decade ago already. Kicking off the Halloween festivities, the original lineup of The ROC & Twiztid return for their 3rd proper LP.
After the intro, first song 'Sent Here to Take You' gets us off to a perfect start foreshadowing what's to come with this aggressive opener detailing their schizophrenic tendencies, while 'Lifeline' follows the chill boom-bam instrumental route, talking about stabbings muhfuckas. “Into Hell Face 1st” brings a rock rap vibe to the table asking you what it's worth once you get to Hell's Pit before “Mask, Playing Games” lyrically squeezes Jason Voorhees advice.
“Make It Dark” returns to boom bap bringing darkness into your life debating if they could stab the whole world just before “Killing Machine” brings an industrial hip hop vibe to the beats so they can talk about being numb to coma with a mask butcher stabs. “The Slaughter, The Carnage” continues to show the trio's murderous tendencies leading up to “Swim in Your Blood” and speaks to an addiction to doing just that.
As for “Break Skin,” we have House of Krazees providing a dark vibe, organically discussing the possibility of living forever and never dying again by biting into cartilage, while “Killer Hunter” jumped over more kicks and snares to talk about the murder. all this. “The Basement” pushes towards the final moments of 31, putting an unusual spin on the traditional boom-bap sound, talking about how it's up to you if that's where you really want to die, and “Thorn” ends by making sure there's nothing left of everyone . it kills.
If you ask me, I never thought about it The night they came home to be the final House of Krazees album to this point and more of the unofficial debut album from HaLFBrEEd. That said: their 1st project since then Head injury goes to show the longevity of the pioneering team of bad shit. ROC's production takes it back to their roots and is the meanest I've heard Twiztid in a while, foreshadowing their upcoming album Welcome to your funeral Produced by Rob Zombie's engineer Zeuss, taking it back to where it all started.
