Hozier earned his first Hot 100 No. 1 on the Billboard Songs chart dated April 27, 2024, as “Too Sweet” rose from No. 2 to the top spot. To celebrate, the Irish singer-songwriter shared a sweet message with fans on social media.
“I want to say a huge, huge thank you to all the supporters, all the fans around the world,” he shared in the short clip, posted to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Monday (April 22). “It's absolutely shocking. I am very surprised and I want to thank you for your support. I'm so excited that you're enjoying 'Too Sweet' and it means the world to me.”
“A huge thank you for the incredible support from all over the world,” reads the caption. “#TooSweet reached #1 in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and #1 for a second week in the UK and Ireland. It means the world that you enjoy this song so much. Thank you all.”
The single, which Hozier wrote and co-produced, rises 2-1 to become his first leader on the Streaming Songs chart. sinks to No. 5 from No. 3 high on digital song sales. and debuts at No. 42 on Radio Songs. The song was first widely heard via a teaser clip during Hozier's March 6 performance at How long has it been gone podcast, ahead of its proper March 22 release on its four-track EP Unheard.
