Idles' “Tangk” debuts at No.1 on the Midweek UK Chart

Idles lead to a brand new top three in the UK midweek chart Tangk (Partisan), the British rock band's fifth studio album.

Based on midweek sales and streaming data released by Official chart company, Tangk is tipped to take the crown and give the Bristol, England five-piece a fourth UK top 10, including the 2020 chart topper, Ultra Mono. The Idles earned two nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards (Best Rock album for Reptilian and Best Rock Performance for 'Crawl!').

Paloma Faith has a chance to win the title with her sixth album The Glory of Sorrownew at No. 2 on chart update. The Glory of Sorrow (RCA) should give the British pop singer a sixth consecutive UK top 10, a tally that includes her first No.1 of 2017 with The architect.

Completing the podium in the Official Chart Update are Liverpool rock act Crawlers, with The mess we seem to be making (Polydor), their debut album. It's new at No.3, for what should give the block its first UK top 10 appearance.

After a week at the top of the charts, by Noah Kahan Stick Season (Republic Records) looks likely to fall 1-4. Kahan scored his first chart double last week when Stick Season and its self-titled track topped the respective Official Charts.

Meanwhile, Derby, England couple Pet Needs (brothers Johnny and George Marriott) are eyeing a top 10 spot with their third collection Intermittent Fast Living (Xtra Mile). It will debut at No. 7, for their first impression on the chart.

Finally, the veteran indie-rock act is on track for his first top 10 in 25 years and fourth overall with Love is the call (Cast Recordings), new to No. 8 on the charts, while former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett could score his first top 10 album in 44 years with his latest solo effort The circus and the night whale (Inside Out), new at No. 9 on chart update. Hackett last made the top 10 in 1980 Renegade.
