Interpol are set to play the biggest show of their career with a free event on April 20th in which the band will take over Mexico City’s Zócalo, a historic ceremonial square with a capacity of 280,000.
In a statement about the show, the concert was characterized as “an opportunity for Interpol to give back to their long and dedicated Mexican fanbase who have supported them impeccably over the years.”
Not only will the April event be the band’s biggest show to date, but it will also be Mexico’s largest concert event of the year so far.
Following the landmark show, Interpol have a stacked year of touring ahead. A collection of festival appearances are accompanied by US dates throughout the spring and summer, while November will see the band take on a small tour throughout the UK specifically to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album Antics.
The fall trek, where Interpol will play the 2004 album in full, includes stops in Wolverhampton, Manchester, Glasgow, and Bristol, with things wrapping in London. See the full list of dates below.
While many of the shows have already sold out, fans can look for deals on North American dates via StubHub or viagogo for international shows.
Interpol’s most recent studio album, The Other Side of Make-Believe, was released in 2022. Revisit vocalist Paul Banks’ podcast sitdown with Kyle Meredith about the project below.
