Irish rock duo Dea Matrona today release new single 'Black Rain', the second installment of their highly anticipated debut album 'For Your Sins', due out on May 3rd.
With its dark and moody demeanor, 'Black Rain' begins with a low guitar strum before transcending into an instant rock classic. As it builds towards its crescendo, it symbolizes the track's lyrical themes of uncertainty.
Dea Matrona says about the single: “'Black Rain' came out of a writing session we had a few years ago. It's that feeling when your heart sinks. A feeling that everyone has. Like a lump in your throat when you walk alone and think 'I shouldn't be here' or when you're with someone who could be bad for you and you start to feel afraid. “You can't really pinpoint where this feeling started, but it's a feeling of feeling trapped like maybe there's no turning back.”

Dea Matrona has always been an exciting proposition. A duo that pushes genre boundaries in an authentic yet nostalgic way, their debut album 'For Your Sins' delivers a passion project like no other. It is an album that unites a heady mix of indie pop and rock with magnificent sophisticated influences from Fleetwood Mac, HAIM; The White Stripes and the Arctic Monkeys get soaked. From the loud, prowling 'So Damn Dangerous' to the whimsical pop stunner 'Every Night I Want You', the low-end strums of 'Black Rain' and the country swing of 'Won't Feel Like This Forever', it delivers a slice of everything. The album is a completely self-made labor of love, with the band writing, recording and producing the album themselves.
Easily a Dea Matrona classic for long-time fans, but the perfect introduction for newcomers, it is designed to draw everyone into Dea Matrona's infectious aura.
