The chaotic visual finds the rapper hoping to impress both women with an overload of gifts and a few handyman fix-ups around the house
If chivalry is really dead, then how do you explain Jack Harlow showing up at his girlfriend’s parent’s house to serenade her mom through the Ring doorbell camera? In the chaotic video for his new single “Miss Johnson,” the rapper hopes to impress both women with an overload of gifts and a few handyman fix-ups around the house.
“Hello, Miss Johnson, you know why I’m callin’/You know I’ve been fallin’, fallin’ for your daughter/I think about her often, correct mе if I’m wrong, but/Was it you that gave the eyеs to her I be lost in? Thought so,” Harlow raps in a smooth cadence on the chorus. “Tell her I said hello if you can, and also/That I can’t wait to see her again, and also/Tell her call me when she get a chance/’Cause I got so much to say, and I appreciate you, ma’am.”
“Miss Johnson” marks the first release from Harlow since he went dark just as his single “Lovin on Me” was taking off. The record took hold on TikTok when it arrived in November 2023. Two separate snippets of the song have been used in 1.4 million and 1.5 million posts, respectively. “Lovin on Me” also spent six weeks at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100, an even longer reign than his first solo chart-topper “First Class.”
Harlow performed a couple of one-off shows throughout the year but largely kept a low profile and stepped back from social media. When “Lovin on Me” arrived he shared: “Thank u for allowing me to reset this year I moved back to Kentucky and gave u an album [2023’s Jackman] I could not have made on the road. Surrounded by family & childhood friends this has been one of the happiest years of my life. But now… a new era begins.”
