The actor, who will host the show this weekend with musical guest Reneé Rapp, has reached unfathomable girl levels.
Even Jacob Elordi, the reigning Hollywood heartthrob of the 2020s, can't help but fall flat on his face—literally. The actor will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut this weekend and he's feeling the pressure. Not that he has to worry about his charm translating to the stage. he pretty much has that part nailed down. Especially since in all his preparation for the big night, no one has guided him to the most essential part: going down the three steps that lead to the stage.
“Everybody makes it look so easy,” Elordi says in the latest promo clip for the episode. In a split second, his mind flashes through the grand entrances past hosts Megan Thee Stallion, Kim Kardashian, Zac Efron and others have made for their own monologues. The actor enlists SNL Cast members Marcello Hernandez and Punkie Johnson to guide him through training. “You got it, it's just a step!” they encourage like a pair of parents teaching their toddler how to walk. This man never hits the charges on the little girl.
Elordi tries to slide down the stairs, roll sideways, hit his butt, start running, and every other trick in the book. When he finally musters up the courage to do so, without hesitation, he walks out the door onto the stage with a charming smile on his face — then he takes a step and fully faces the plants. The sound of it hitting the ground is what makes everyone around him flinch as if it happened to them.
It's all good though. He still has a few days to get it together before the cameras roll on Saturday. Musical guest Reneé Rapp will be in the building and will likely steal the spotlight anyway.
