For the first time in nine years, we will have a new Jamie xx album.
In 2015, the renowned DJ and producer released his debut solo album, In color. Since then she has released a series of singles and remixes, as well as I see you with his band, The xx. Now it's back only for the album's monochrome counterpart, in the waves.
Jamie xx recently took to social media to reveal the cover of in the waveswhich fans will recognize follows the same stylistic pattern as its predecessor and their collaborative remix album, We are new here, with Gil-Scott Heron. She also shared a heartfelt message about how she has grown in the years since.
“It's been a while… and a lot has happened in that time,” he wrote. “Ups and downs, growing up, discovering things and then forgetting them many times. Life and world changing events. These waves that we have all experienced together and alone. I wanted to do something fun, joyful and introspective for everyone at the same time. The best moments on a dance floor are usually those for me.”

Jamie xx also released a new single from the album, “Treat Each Other Right,” along with a dynamic music video depicting a strange party. Featuring older ravers, nurses giving birth to plastic dolls and a Gordon Ramsey lookalike, her latest record is sure to enthrall and perplex while scratching the itch of those looking for more of her club-ready sounds.
