Jamie xx and The Avalanches have teamed up for “All You Children,” a new single from the former's upcoming album, On the wavesstream it below.
A pulsating club anthem with a bouncy bassline and swelling synths, “All You Children” provides a sense of catharsis while instructing listeners to “stop crying, dance with me” and move to the “upbeat beat.”
In a statement about the collaboration, Jamie xx praised his work with The Avalanches. “Their sampling technique and the way they combine different sounds is incredible and collaborating on a song with them has shown me new ways to make music,” he said.
This isn't the first time Jamie xx has collaborated with The Avalanches. He previously collaborated on “Wherever You Go” from their 2020 album, We will always love you.
On the waves The album is due out on September 20 via Young and features previously released singles “Life” featuring Robyn, “Treat Each Other Right” and “Baddy on the Floor.” In addition to The Avalanches and Robyn, the album features appearances from Panda Bear and fellow members of The xx, Romy and Oliver Sim.
Promote On the wavesJamie xx will kick off his five-night residency at The Floor in Los Angeles tonight. Later this year, he'll make appearances at festivals including Hard Summer, Life Is Beautiful and Portola, plus a pair of headline performances at London's Alexandra Palace on September 25 and 26.
