The xx's Romy is also stopping by Jessie Ware's festival set to debut her new joint single “Lift You Up!”
The xx reunited on stage for the first time in almost six years on Saturday as Jamie xx was joined by bandmates Oliver Sim and Romy during their Glastonbury set.
The trio are staging a near-reunion on Jamie xx's upcoming album In WAVES in the song “Waited All Night”, featuring both Sim and Romy. While the LP isn't due out until September 20, the members of the xx – who haven't performed together as the xx since July 2018 – debuted it during Jamie xx's set at Glastonbury, as well as their cover of 'You Got “Candi Staton's Love.”
Robyn was also invited to Jamie xx's set to perform their collaboration 'Life', a recent single off. In WAVES:
“I made this track pretty quickly (for me) and loved it from day one,” Jamie xx previously said of the single in a statement. “When I first heard Robyn's vocal it was at 6am after playing at Pacha in Ibiza, it was the perfect time. Robyn and I have spent time working together and hanging out for a few years now, it's always a joy and always inspiring, I'm so happy and grateful that she's a part of it In WAVES.”
In more xx-related news, Romy also appeared during Jessie Ware's Glastonbury to debut their new collaboration 'Life You Up!':
Shortly after the performance, Ware dropped the studio version of the single, add to social media, “Yes, the rumors are true. Romy and I were in the studio making Lift You Up! I love this person and we are so excited to share our song with you. Proud of it.”
