Javier Bardem will star in a new cape fear Series from executive producers Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.
Bardem will follow in the footsteps of Robert Mitchum and Robert De Niro to play infamous killer Max Cady, who will confront married lawyers Amanda and Steve Bowden after being released from prison.
Apple TV+ has picked up the show for 10 episodes, with Nick Antosca (Hannibal) serving as writer, executive producer and showrunner.
He cape fear The series was first reported to be in development in 2023. Its source material is the 1957 novel by John D. MacDonald. The executionerswhich in turn inspired the film starring Gregory Peck. 1962 film Fear of the camp and the remake of 1991. The latter was directed by Scorsese and produced by Spielberg, with Nick Nolte and Jessica Lange in lead roles alongside De Niro.
