Jeezy has denied his estranged wife Jeannie Mai’s “deeply disturbing” abuse allegations.
The Real presenter accused the rapper of domestic violence and child neglect in new court documents, claiming he was prone to “explosive outbursts”, “excessive drinking” and physically and verbally abusive behaviour.
Jeezy, real name Jay Wayne Jenkins, denied the allegations in a statement on Instagram on Thursday.
“The allegations are not only false, but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved. This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous,” he wrote. “It’s disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play and at this time my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court mandated joint custody. Rest assured, the truth will prevail through the proper legal channels.”
Jeezy filed for divorce from Jeannie Mai after two years of marriage in September 2023. They have been locked in a bitter divorce battle ever since, particularly over custody of their two-year-old daughter Monaco.
The TV personality filed the new documents on Thursday to convince a judge to deny Jeezy’s request for more custody.
In addition to several alleged instances of violence, Jeannie Mai also claimed that she is worried for Monaco’s safety with Jeezy. She cited an alleged incident in October 2023 where Monaco discovered a bag containing his rifle in their home.
