Recently, the country superstar Jelly Roll has adopted a healthier lifestyle. But the “Halfway to Hell” singer says the key to his success lies in balance and knowing what works for him.
In a new interview on Taste of Country Nights, Jelly Roll was asked if he still smokes weed amid his goal to live a healthier lifestyle. “I get in trouble for it all the time, but my stance on marijuana will always be the same. I think marijuana has helped me with a lot of issues, with my anxiety,” he said. “This is a hot button, but really, marijuana has kept me sober.”
Jelly Roll added: “I think a world without weed, Jelly Roll is drinking codeine and popping Xanax and snorting cocaine again. But a world of weed, I'll be fine.”
He also noted that he has “friends who don't do that. I have friends who are in the program who are completely against any kind of mind changing. I respect that. I have so much respect for these people. My sobriety just didn't work out that way.”
Earlier this month, the singer completed his first 5K race, taking part in the 2 Bears 5K in Los Angeles. Are also bound himself to walk more regularly and eat healthily.
