Jimmie Allen's unnamed former manager, who sued the country singer and his former management company last year over sexual assault allegations, is dropping Allen from her suit, according to court documents reviewed by Rolling rock.
According to an order filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, Jane Doe's accuser asked the court to dismiss her claims against Allen, and Allen also asked to dismiss the counterclaims he subsequently filed against her.
Representatives for Jane Doe and Allen did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
While Allen is removed from the lawsuit, the Jane Doe plaintiff is still suing co-defendants William Bowers Management, Wide Open Music, and founder Ash Bowers for multiple claims, including negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and participation in a sex-trafficking enterprise. Jane Doe alleged in her suit that the co-defendants “treated Allen's sexual harassment as normal.”
Plaintiff Jane Doe originally alleged in her suit that Allen sexually assaulted and harassed her multiple times from 2020 to 2022, when she served as Allen's day-to-day manager. “Beginning in May 2020, during photo shoots, public appearances and performances when Plaintiff represented WOM as Allen's manager, Allen sexually harassed Plaintiff overtly and publicly making comments about her status as a single woman, her innocence her and how hot she looked. . He did it from the stage, in front of the production crew and the audience,” the lawsuit said.
The lawsuit also included allegations that Allen sexually assaulted her after a shoot american idol, when Jane Doe was incapacitated and unable to consent. “Disoriented and confused, Plaintiff was bleeding vaginally. The plaintiff felt saddened and humiliated. She realized that she had lost her virginity through no choice of her own and felt that she had betrayed her faith,” the suit said.
Then, in a statement to rolling rock, Allen had admitted to having an extramarital affair, but maintained that he had a consensual relationship with Jane Doe accuser. “It is deeply troubling and distressing that someone I considered one of my closest friends, colleagues and confidants would make allegations that have absolutely no truth to them,” Allen said.
After the first accuser came forward, a second Jane Doe filed a lawsuit last June, alleging that she and Allen had consensual sex, but that he filmed the encounter without her consent and ejaculated inside her despite multiple requests. Allen countersued Jane Doe's second accuser, and the lawsuit remains active.
Several music companies cut ties with Allen after the allegations surfaced, including Allen's record label, BBR Music Group.
