Fans were surprised and excited to see Joe Keery walk out of Electric Lady Studios on the same summer day that Taylor Swift was in the building, with many wondering if the Stranger Things actor and pop star were planning to work together. And in a recent appearance at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonKeery finally cleared things up.
“Well, that was a very confusing day,” recalls the actor, who performs as a musician under the stage name Djo. “[I’m] minding my own business, doing nothing, and then I walked out the door, and it was like a thousand people standing outside. People would look at me waiting for Taylor and say, 'Who's that guy?'”
Finally, Keery said some of Swift's fans — who this year made a habit of camping outside of the famed Manhattan studio in hopes of catching a glimpse of the pop superstar — recognized him and took some pictures. Well, there you have it — Keery and Swift crossing paths on Electric Lady was purely coincidental, and not because a collaboration is in the works. Or is it?
“Maybe this one [day] it would create something,” Kyrie said Tonight. “Maybe this experience created something in the universe, but I don't know.”
The 'Roddy' singer is currently starting work on the final season of the Netflix smash hit Stranger Things, telling Fallon that he has read some of the showrunners' scripts. And while he couldn't give anything away about the upcoming episode, Keery joked that “chances are” that Steve's character will likely continue to be defeated in the finale, as usual.
