John Malkovich joins Kyle Meredith to talk about what's next AppleTV+ series, The new look, which tells the story of life in Nazi-occupied France and post-World War II Europe through the lives of fashion icons Christian Dior and Coco Chanel. Malkovich, the legendary actor known for films such as Being John Malkovich, Air-conditioningand Of mice and men – he plays Lucien Lelong, a French couturier who mentored Dior (among other iconic designers). He explains his role in the show, delves into how it delves into the compromises many people had to make to survive, and ultimately how decisions during that time were rarely easy.
“There are very few things that are really black and white,” Malkovich explains. “There are some, but life is corruption and life is compromise, and that's a fact, and you can't get around that fact, and you can't avoid that we all adapt to things we really want not to do.”
The actor goes on to consider how people today would fare under similar circumstances and how more careful consideration of creation could prevent future chaos. The actor's next role in the series directed by Andrew Scott is also anticipated. Ripley. The story is familiar to Malkovich, who played the title character in the 2002 film. Ripley's game.
