Nominations for the 2025 Grammy Awards were announced on Friday (November 8), with the Recording Academy recognizing a wide range of artists in the four dance categories.
The fields were introduced by Kylie Minogue during the live stream of the Grammy nominations, with the Australian icon last year being the first recipient of the pop dance award, which was recently introduced at the 2024 ceremony and is now called dance pop.
Dance artists with the most nominations this year include Justice, who won a recording and album coin for his 2024 single “Neverender” and the album it came from; Hyperdrama. Four Tet is also a double nominee this year, in the album category for its release Three and his track “Loved”. Zedd also scored an album nomination for his first LP in nine years, End.
Meanwhile Charli XCX makes three appearances at the dance nominations, with her club-ready Brat in the album category, the electro throwback “Von Dutch” in a recording and AG Cook's remix of the same song in the best recording with a remix.

In June, the Recording Academy revealed a series of rule changes that will apply to the 2025 awards. Among those 10 changes, three were directly related to the dance/electronic categories, with a fourth affecting those categories as well.
One of the changes includes an award introduced at the Grammys just this year, with the Best Pop Dance Recording category now called Best Pop Dance Recording. This adjustment is not only a matter of aesthetics, but is intended to make the category more accurately reflect the established style of dance pop music it was created to showcase.
The next rule change concerns the Best Remixed Recordings category, which has long focused on dance/electronic artists but has never been an official dance/electronic category. This changes in 2025, with this category moving from production, engineering, composition and arrangement to pop and dance/electronic
