There is no joy like the elation of a first-time grandmother at the impending birth of her first grandchild. Which explains why Justin BieberHer mom, Patti Mallette, was absolutely glowing and bursting with pride in a driver's seat video she posted on Thursday (May 9) in which she exhaled the wonderful news after sitting in it for far too long.
“Well, I've been waiting for this day and now that it's been shared, I can finally celebrate it with you,” she excitedly gushed to the camera. “Oh my god, I'm going to be a grandma! Oh my God! YES!” she squeals in a short Instagram video captioned, “BABY BIEBER IS ON THE WAY!! I'm going to be a GRANDMA!!🎉🙌CONGRATULATIONS @JustinBieber and @haileybieber !! My heart is so full. What an exciting new adventure. I love you so much!”
The video was posted after Bieber and wife Hailey Bieber announced earlier Thursday that they are expecting their first child in a series of photos and videos from a film shoot where Hailey holds her growing baby as JB snaps photos of her. Mallette seemed to get a little excited at first when she commented on a post from her son's father-in-law, actor Stephen Baldwin, who wrote: 'Congratulations Grandpa! WE'RE GOING TO HAVE THE CUTEST GRANNIES EVER!”
After comments on Baldwin's post flared up with Beliebers speculating that Mallette had accidentally revealed the couple might be having twins, she quickly and adamantly clarified: 'No, not twins lol I would. I just mean in general. Hopefully they'll have more than one eventually. They will make beautiful babies whenever they get them. One is enough for now 😂.”
The couple officially married in September 2018 at a New York courthouse, flying to the Montage Palmetto Bluff hotel in South Carolina a year later to celebrate with friends and family for a more traditional wedding ceremony and star-studded party.
“Okay Justin and Hailey, you are going to be the best parents ever!” Mallett predicted in her video. “And I'm very excited! Oh my God, thank God!”
