Justin Irby has released a new single, “Your Lips,” out now on BIJOU’s Do Not Duplicate Recordings.
“Your Lips” is what happens when a piano player gets drunk on house music and starts telling secrets. Similar to a whispered promise in a crowded club, the sultry song simmers with an infectious beat that will have your body moving before your brain catches up.
Evocative lyrics drip like honey over an effervescent house beat, lamenting a day without the touch of a partner's lips. Drenched in pain over a paradoxically uplifting beat, the vocals paint a portrait of a longing so visceral you can almost taste the despair on your own language.
Meanwhile, Irby's pirouetting piano riffs dance through the mix as if fingertips dragging across bare skin. It manages to bottle that tantalizing feeling, distilling it into a joyous dance floor for touch-starved lovers everywhere to gather on the dance floors.
