Justin Timberlake seemingly responded to his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears’s apology during his concert on Wednesday night.
During his birthday show at Irving Plaza in New York City, the Mirrors hitmaker seemingly declared that he didn’t owe anyone an apology.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise to absolutely f**king nobody,” he told the audience between songs, according to footage posted on social media.
Users claimed that he made the comment before launching into his 2002 song Cry Me a River, which is believed to be about Britney, however, the footage ends before the next song begins.
Justin’s declaration comes days after the Toxic hitmaker apologised to anyone she had offended with her 2023 memoir The Woman in Me.
“I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry…” she wrote, not specifying exactly what parts of the book she was apologising for.
The pop star then praised Justin’s new songs Selfish and Sanctified and his recent performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Justin, who turned 43 on Wednesday, dated Britney between 1999 and 2002. He has yet to publicly address the allegations made in her memoir, including the claim he cheated on her and that she got an abortion because he wasn’t ready to be a father.
During his free birthday show, Justin performed three new songs as well as greatest hits such as Like I Love You, SexyBack and Rock Your Body.
Halfway through the performance, his wife Jessica Biel surprised him by bringing out a cake and encouraging the crowd to sing Happy Birthday, according to Billboard.
