One month after the start of the campaign for Everything I thought it was With lead single “Selfish,” Justin Timberlake has revealed a new taste of his upcoming LP.
Co-written and co-produced by Louis Bell, Cirkut, Kenyon Dixon, Amy Allen and Timberlake himself, 'Drown' finds the *NSYNC alum at home on an atmospheric electro-pop&B instrumental. “I caught the tide of all the tears you cried/ Yeah, you know I was blinded by my heart, I was sinking from the beginning/ I never should have followed you this far, now I'm in the deep/ And you let me drown/ You didn't even try you save me,” he screams in the chorus.
On Wednesday (February 21), JT took to his Instagram page to share one reel of himself toiling away in the studio with some collaborators while a snippet of 'Drown', his new single, plays in the background. “Drowning 2/23,” read the caption. Timberlake first teased the song in an Instagram post on Feb. 19 with the caption, “I made it in London, still recovering from this flu. But trying to force his way through. So excited for new music and everything to come this week… DROWN 2/23.”
“Drown” serves as JT's official follow-up to “Selfish,” which debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning Timberlake his highest debut in six years. Billboard marquee single chart. The lead single from Everything I thought it was It also marked Timberlake's 29th top 40 hit as a solo artist.
In support of his new LP, Timberlake is set to embark on a headlining North American tour. Earlier this month, “Can't Stop the Feeling!” The singer added 15 more dates to his already extensive tour. The tour will kick off on April 29 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, and will visit major cities such as Las Vegas (May 10-11), New York (June 25-26) and Atlanta (November 16) before wrapping up on November 20 at the KFC Yum Center in Louisville, Ky.
