One of the unspeakably fun parts of being a pop star is the people who show up at your shows with weird scars. Usually, they don't get commented on by the artist, but when Justin Timberlake looked out into the crowd at his show at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Friday, there was one poster that just couldn't hold its weight.
“Okay, I need to know more about that,” Timberlake said with a sly smile, asking the woman to hold up the sign for everyone else to see. According to videos of the moment posted on X, the woman's message read: “I got my divorce with $$.” The crowd erupted into wild cheers for the fan as she proudly held up the cardboard receipt commemorating her breakup.
JT couldn't help but laugh, covering his eyes at one point and asking her name as another fan in the audience shouted a hearty “congratulations girl!”
“Oh, this one here said, 'Congratulations girl!'” Timberlake, 43, said with a pose and a snap of the finger. “I know I'm in Philly right now. This was the most welcoming thing I've seen in a long time. “I don't play around with these men,” he added. “I'm so sorry…okay, put him on. You are here now. We are so happy to have you.”
The show marked Timberlake's return to the stage on his Forget Tomorrow world tour after the October 8 Prudential Center show in New Jersey was postponed shortly before the doors were scheduled to open due to what he deemed “an injury that prevents me from performing ».
