Justin Timberlake was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor, New York on Monday night (June 17). According CNNa spokesperson for the Sag Harbor Police Department confirmed that Timberlake, 43, remained in custody as of Tuesday morning (June 18), while a spokesperson for the Sag Harbor District Court told the network that the singer is scheduled to appear in court today.
A representative for Timberlake did not return a call Advertising signhis request for comment on the incident at press time.
According People, the Sag Harbor PD is expected to issue a statement about the arrest later today. The magazine cited an unnamed source who said Timberlake was arrested on a DWI charge after having dinner in the area and was reportedly pulled over after leaving a restaurant en route to a friend's house.
Timberlake is in the midst of his Forget Tomorrow world tour, which is set to hit the road again on Friday (June 21) with the first of two shows at the United Center in Chicago. The tour's most recent date was a June 15 show at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Earlier this month, JT interrupted a show at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas when he spotted someone in the audience who appeared to be in danger and asked security to check on the person.
As the band continued to play, security entered the crowd and Timberlake asked for the house lights to be turned on so they could see where the problem was. “The house is on, thank you. Sorry everybody, one second, one second. We need help here about five rows back,” Timberlake said with concern. The audience member appeared to be fine, and Timberlake immediately returned to his performance of “Cry Me a River.”
