This is the 3rd EP from New York emcee Jynx716. Appears in 2020 from his debut mixtape The Green Albumfollowed this past spring with his debut EP The 33 & mainly Be careful what you wish for Che Noir production, but it is Absolutely not yet returning with Che for 8 tracks & 25 minutes of material.
“2nd Impression” is a symphonic intro talking about how his first impression couldn't have been too bad, while “Time” works through some piano chords stating that he doesn't do that part time at all. “Where I Gotta Go” talks about doing what he had to do to get where he needed to be in life, bringing out a mystical vibe that organically leads into “Stay Underground” which features and is produced by 38 Spesh with a very more crude approach.
G4 Jag joins Jynx on “Pretty Penny” giving a cinematic vibe once again as Che jumps behind the boards putting a spin on “a penny for your thoughts” but then “Hope” with Che & Freeway herself incorporate this well-turned sample by talking about their triumphs. “No Voicemail” connects those pianos with kicks and snares to take its own just before “Intent” featuring Vic Spencer closes the EP with a statement that they've done it all with a purpose.
Be careful what you wish for has quickly become my favorite EP ever made by Jynx & ANDY (Absolutely not yet) it's quite possibly better than its predecessor, though it's a solid gateway into his discography. Che intends to grow as a producer, which I don't see as a bad thing at all, and Jynx's lyricism has risen over the past couple of years.
