Kali Uchis has shared her new album orchidstheir fourth studio album overall and second sung entirely in Spanish.
orchids includes the previously released singles “Muñekita” featuring El Alfa and JT of City Girls, “Te Mata” and “Labios Mordidos” featuring Karol G. Other collaborators on the 14-track album include Peso Pluma, Rauw Alejandro and his real-life partner life Don Toliver.
orchids translates as “orchid,” and Uchis explained the meaning of the album's botanical title in a statement: “The orchid is the national flower of Colombia, and we have more species of orchids than anywhere else in the world,” he said. “I always felt clearly intrigued and magnetized by the flower. This album is inspired by the timeless, haunting, mystical, striking, elegant and sensual charm of the orchid. With this vast scope of fresh energy, I wish to redefine the way we look at Latinas in music.”
