Kamasi Washington has recruited André 3000 for “Dream State”, the latest installment of the musician's next album Movement without fear.
Over the course of eight hypnotic minutes, Washington's saxophone and André 3000's flute intertwine and enchant. As the song title suggests, there is a dreamlike trance that surrounds the song, but it becomes much more active and vibrant when Kamasi Washington's rhythm section enters. “Dream State” is more meditative than the previous one fearless movement cut “Prologue,” but still features some dazzling and moving improvisational moments.
