Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ignhis new collective project Vultures 1 has been plagued with delays and false starts before its release last week. FUGA, a music distribution company, moved for liquidation Vultures 1 by DSP and now the album is distributed by another label.
Rolling rock reports that Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have dropped their new project but not without a hitch. In the report, FUGA says it was uploaded by a customer of theirs Vultures 1 without their approval, even though he never agreed to a full deal with Ye and his team.
“Late last year, FUGA was presented with the opportunity to release Vultures 1. Exercising our judgment in the ordinary course of business, we declined to do so,” a spokesperson for Downtown Music, FUGA's parent company, said in a statement to Rolling rock. “On Friday, February 9, 2024, a long-time FUGA customer submitted the album Vultures 1 through the platform's automated processes, in violation of our service agreement. Therefore, FUGA is actively working with our DSP partners and the customer to remove Vultures 1 from our systems.”
The outlet adds that the album is now being distributed online through Label Engine and is returning to DSPs like Apple Music. The album faces further difficulties after Donna Summer's estate did not clear the singer's use of the sample on a track with Ozzy Osbourne blasting West for sampling one of his songs without permission, citing Ye's anti-Semitic views.
