In a major crossover, Punjabi singer-songwriter Karan Aujla has joined forces with Tiësto to release a dancefloor-ready remix of his chart-topping single, “Softly.”
Premiered at Etihad Park in front of 20,000 furious fans during the first post-race concert of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the remix is as explosive as it is infectious. In classic Tiësto style, the Dutch dance music icon brings his signature energetic touch to “Softly,” bringing it to clubs and festivals around the world.
Born and raised in Ghurala, a village in northern Punjab, India, Aujla has become one of the most prolific Punjabi artists in the region. Their debut album BTFU launched in 2021 to great international success and has since amassed over one billion digital streams.
“Softly” stands out as the lead single from Aujla's second album, Doing Memories. The song has become a global sensation, surpassing 250 million streams and racking up over 20 billion views on social platforms in the process. Driven by intoxicating basslines and packed with irresistible production, Tiësto's remix channels the traditional Punjabi style of the original to bring new energy.
“It's an honor to have Tiësto remix 'Softly' and do what he does best,” said Aujla. “I hope my fans continue to make memories with this one and enjoy the single in a whole new way.”
