Kasablanca, who has quickly risen through the ranks of electronic music since her 2020 debut, has revealed a deeply personal struggle: Micky, one half of the duo, has been diagnosed with cancer.
The news came unexpectedly during the final leg of Kasablanca's “Crossing The Rubicon” tour, a trip that has seen them hypnotize audiences at clubs and festivals around the world. The sudden diagnosis and emergency surgery required an abrupt detour in his performance schedule, leading to the cancellation of long-awaited shows in Washington DC and Miami.
After surgery, Micky embarked on an aggressive chemotherapy regimen, he said. While challenging, the treatment was met with optimism by the artist's medical team, offering hope of a full recovery in due course for her.
“My doctors are confident that cancer is curable and that I will make a full recovery,” she wrote in a heartwarming Instagram post.
With great regret, the producer's health problem has led to further adjustments to Kasablanca's plans. The duo's upcoming performances in Tulum and at Colombia's Solaris Festival have been canceled as chemotherapy treatment is expected to extend into February.
Despite these trials, Kasablanca's spirit remains intact and they have assured their fans that their long-awaited debut album is still in the works. You can read Micky's announcement below.
