Katy Perry shares another taste of her upcoming single 'Woman's World'. On Tuesday, the singer shared a teaser of the music video, which sees Perry dressed as Rosie the Riveter in a single that looks to empower women.
“Celebrate,” sings Perry. “We will not leave.”
The video combines clips of Perry pouring “Whiskey for Women” into her mouth and playing with a dull hammer while wearing a tool belt and Timberland work boot-inspired heels. Another scene flashes a close-up of Perry's cleavage beneath a sparkly American flag top shared on the 4th of July. The visual ends with a giant anchor falling on Perry's head and crushing her.
Shortly after the visual teaser, Perry shared a photo of herself in a futuristic mermaid outfit emerging from a portal: “Sleep tight, for tomorrow, the portal opens,” she captioned the post. The day before, Perry shared a perspective of a deflated version of herself from the music video as she revealed that the video for the track will be released at 7 p.m. ET on July 11.
Late last month, Perry revealed the lyrics to her new song wearing a red dress with a 500-foot train that revealed all the words to the song. “Sexy, confident/So smart/Standed in the sky/So soft, so strong,” the lyrics read. “She's a winner/Champion/Superman/Number one.”
During her trip to Paris, where Perry walked the Vogue World runway, the singer was seen greeting fans as she told them she would be “return, returning” in France for her next tour.
The new video will come several weeks later Rolling rock broke the news that Perry had reconnected with Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Stargate (who helped make her albums hits Teenage Dream and Prism) for her upcoming album. “Katy knew exactly the album she wanted to make and she assembled the team to make it happen,” said a Capitol Records source. Rolling rock at that time.
The news of Perry's collaboration with Luke comes a year after the producer settled his defamation lawsuit with singer Kesha, who accused him of sexual, physical and emotional abuse years ago. Last June, Kesha said “God only knows what happened” the night she claimed she was raped, while Luke maintained his innocence.
