Keith Urban had admitted he likes it when wife Nicole Kidman watches him onstage, saying it “fires him up a bit more.”
The singer told People magazine that he “tries to impress” his wife of 18 years when he’s performing in front of her.
The country star, 56, is due to start a residency in Las Vegas in October, that will run for 10 nights, and again in February. The show is called High, and will differ from the previous shows he’s done.
“The only challenge I get in Vegas is obviously you’ve got a big mix of people,” he said. “You got some hardcore fans, you’ve got some people that know some of your songs, but you’ve always got people that don’t know anything that I do, and they’re just curious. I try and get everyone connected and into it as fast as possible.”
Due to celebrate their 18th wedding anniversary in June, the couple share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 15, and Faith Margaret, 13.
The Australian couple met in 2005 at a G’Day USA gala in LA. They exchanged numbers but Keith has previously admitted he didn’t call Nicole for another four months. They announced their engagement in May 2006 and were married in June 2006.
“Meeting her and getting married wasn’t life-changing, it was life-beginning,” Keith once told CBS.
They appeared with both their daughters for the first time at a public event when Nicole was awarded with the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award in April.
