Kelly Clarkson has turned custom cover art into a staple of her syndicated daytime talk show. Whether it's covering Radiohead's “Fake Plastic Trees,” Tony Bennett's “(I Left My Heart) in San Francisco, man American Idol Carrie Underwood's “Blown Away” or Last Dinner Party's “Nothing Matters,” Clarkson fans know to tune into her NBC show every day to see what amazing song she'll play next.
You can now hear these exclusive recordings on Clarkson's SiriusXM channel, Kelly Clarkson Connection. The singer announced Thursday (August 8) that you can tune into SiriusXM 12 to hear Clarkson's stories behind the covers, why she chose the songs, as well as some of the feedback she received about them from the original artists.
“I'm really excited to share Kellyokes because it's the one thing I get asked the most: 'Can you put it all on?' Clarkson said in an audio clip included in the Instagram announcement in which he noted that the covers have been mixed and mastered for inclusion on her satellite channel. “The Kelly Clarkson Connection was the perfect place to have that. It's my station, so why not put it here for my fans to hear?”
During a five-hour Kellyoke segment on Wednesday, Clarkson gushed about Ariana Grande, saying: “Oh my god, I'm going to 'Seven Rings.' This is probably one of my favorite Kellyokes and I'll tell you why. Because after it aired, Ariana texted me and it was so sweet! It was like, “Oh my God! It was so incredible!” and I said, “oh, thanks!” Because I really like this song and I like how he took it The Sound of Music song. It was so cool and clever. And I like the song. And they are very funny. I don't think people know how funny and smart she is.”
Clarkson Connection launched in November as an exclusive year-round channel featuring Clarkson playing her favorite songs from other artists, music that inspires her and the stories behind some of her own hits, as well as appearances from members of her live band her band.
