Kelsea Ballerini lands her first No. 1 Bulletin boardThe chart of top country albums as Patterns explosions at the top of the list dated November 9.
The set, released on Oct. 25, earned 54,000 US album equivalents – a new weekly best for Ballerini – with 35,000 album sales through Oct. 31, according to Luminate.
On the all-genre Billboard 200, the album reaches No. 4, marking Ballerini's second top 10 and highest ranking, surpassing the No. 7 peak for No apologies in November 2017.
First week sales for Patterns were encouraged by the set's availability on eight vinyl variants (including a signed edition). Her vinyl sales totaled 12,000 for the week – Ballerini's best week ever on vinyl. In addition, two CDs (including a signed version) were available. A digital version with two bonus cuts was released on her website on October 28. Additionally, the album had a retail price of $4.99 on the iTunes Store.
Ballerini, of Knoxville, Tenn., co-wrote all 15 songs Patterns. The LP's first single, “Cowboys Cry Too,” featuring Noah Kahan, jumps 47-24 on the Hot Country Songs chart based on streaming, airplay and sales. The song, which debuted at its No. 16 high in July, amassed 4.9 million official US streams, up 69%, in its tracking week. On Country Airplay, it ranks No. 43 (2.5 million audience, up 3%). started at No. 27 best in July.
Patterns marks Ballerini's eighth Top Country Albums entry. Next Rolling Up the Welcome Matwhich opened at No. 21 in February 2023 before reaching No. 11 the following month. Her charted titles prior to this are Subject to Changewhich started at its No. 3 high in October 2022. Ballerina (No. 9, September 2020); Kelsey (No. 2, April 2020); No apologies (No. 3, November 2017); The First Time (No. 4, June 2015); and Kelsea Ballerini (No. 40, March 2015).
