Business is booming for New Ho King. The Chinese restaurant featured in Kendrick Lamar's 'Euphoria' is looking to capitalize on the limelight by naming a special meal after K. Dot.
Last week, food blogger @insta.noodles went to New Ho King in Toronto to order the “Kendrick Lamar Special” and tried the fried rice with dipping sauce for himself that the Compton rapper talked about in “Euphoria.”
In addition to the late-night spot at 6's signature fried rice, it has also served spicy fried chicken wings, fried shrimp, and a beef and broccoli dish. The price of the four-course meal? $66 before tax and tip.
The restaurant has According to reports we've seen an explosion in orders since Lamar rapped on his snazzy Drake diss track: “I'm in the New Ho King eating fried rice with a dipping sauce and a blammy, crodie.”
A server from the restaurant broadcast on The guardian: “We sell a lot of fried rice. Very. Most people come here to order it.”
While the New Ho King is located in Drake's hometown Downtown area, the owners appreciate the new business thanks to Lamar's name.
“I see, Kendrick is a good guy. Oh my God!” said the owner of the new Ho King, Johnny Lu doItyNews.
Fans come from all over Canada to try the New Ho King as it has become a town attraction. “I came all the way from Markham just to see this fried rice,” said one fan. “Kedrick Lamar, man. Gotta respect K. Dot, man. Ever since the diss track came out, I've been like, “I have to visit this place.”
“Euphoria” climbed to No. 3 on the latest Billboard Hot 100 in its first full week of tracking after debuting at No. 11. It was an animosity-filled Hot 100 top 10 with K. Dot's “Not Like” Mustard We' debuted at the top of the chart, while Drake's response “Family Matters” peaked at No.7.
