Kendrick Lamar turned all eyes and ears to the West Coast after leaving his last job, GNXwhich closes the huge year he had in music. Now that fans got to sit down with the GNX over the weekend, the reactions on social media, especially on the X platform, have been hilarious.
Kendrick Lamar is down GNX last Friday (November 22), much to the surprise of all Hip-Hop fans who were caught off guard. The project is essentially an extension of the K-Dot sound he embodied on his smash hit 'Not Like Us' with heavy references to Los Angeles, Compton and the entire West Coast to be exact.
One of GNX's top moments went viral as Lamar yelling Mustard's name on the “tv off” beat switch has since gone viral on the internet. This in turn sparked many jokes at the expense of a frequent target GNX at Drake, with some of Lamar's compatriots seemingly joining in the digs at the Canadian superstar.
Thematically, GNX it's a departure from Kendrick Lamar's usually contemplative work, but it still has enough flashes of his expert songwriting and his ability to spark emotion in the listener. We'll be reviewing the project this week on Hip-Hop Wired.
At X, we've seen some great responses linked to its fall GNX and we have them listed below.
