As 2024 draws to a close, Apple Music and Shazam look back on a great year in music.
Apple Music released its year-end charts on Tuesday (December 3), with Kendrick Lamar at No. 1 of the Top Songs of 2024: Worldwide chart with “Not Like Us”. In second place is Benson Boone's “Beautiful Things,” with Sabrina Carpenter's “Espresso” and Shaboozey's “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” reaching No. 3 and 4, respectively. Taylor Swift's 'Cruel Summer' rounds out the top five. With 39 songs on the chart by female artists, it's the biggest year for a woman in the chart's seven-year history.
In addition, Boone's “Beautiful Things” leads the 2024 global Shazam chart, with more tags on the platform than any other song in the past year. “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims hit No. 2, while FloyyMenor and CrisMJ's breakout single “Gata Only” reached No. 3. In No. 4 is CYRIL's remix of Disturbed's 'The Sound of Silence' followed by Artemas' 'i' like the way you kiss me'.
