Kevin Kaarl's new single “Esta Noche” tops this week's new Latin music poll.
In a poll posted Friday (Nov. 22) — in support of the weekly New Music Latin compilation and playlist, curated by Bulletin board Latin and Billboard Español editors — music fans voted for the Mexican singer-songwriter's new track as their favorite music release of the week.
The highly nostalgic “Esta Noche” garnered more than 95% of the votes, overwhelmingly beating out other new releases that dropped this week, such as Tito Double P’s “Nadie,” Kenia Os’ “Tokome,” Leo Rizzi and “Quebranto” by Lasso. Quevedo's BUENAS NOCHES album, and Ricardo Arjona's 'Despacio Que Hay Prisa', among others.
In “Esta Noche”, Kevin Kaarl sings emotionally and vividly about love and heartbreak. It was produced by his twin brother, Bryan Kaarl, who first teamed up with Kevin for “Te Quiero Tanto”. The music video for the new track is the first installment in a trilogy of visuals that will culminate in a short film. “Esta Noche” is the first single from his upcoming studio album, ULTRA SODA.
“'Esta Noche' is a song I started writing months ago, telling the story of a couple just as their relationship is ending,” Kevin said in a press statement. “This song marks the beginning of the whole album, the beginning of a complete story. Everything that happens after a breakup, with a more mature perspective on love and relationships. You could say it represents my more mature view of how I feel when a relationship ends.”
