Kid Cudi is canceling his upcoming Insano World tour due to an injury suffered while performing at Coachella over the weekend.
Cudi broke the news to his fans in a heartfelt note on Wednesday (April 24), in which he revealed that he actually fractured his calcaneus — the bone that forms in the heel — during the stage fall.
“So guys, I've broken my heel. I'm going into surgery now and there will be a lot of recovery time. We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting back out there in top shape to piss on y'all,” Cudi wrote on X and Instagram. “There is no way I can go back in time to give 100%. The injury is much more serious than I thought. Anyone who purchased tickets will receive a full refund, you will receive an email shortly.”
The 43-date trek featuring Pusha T, Earthgang, Jaden Smith, Chelsea Pastel and Siena Bella as supporting guests was scheduled to kick off on June 28 with a show at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
However, Cudi plans to return to the stage when he's healthy, and he'll do it to his fans with another tour to come.
“We'll be back with new tour dates as soon as possible, and I can't wait to get back out there with you guys and see how we do,” he continued. “I'm so sorry fam and I love you all so much, thanks for the endless love and support. I'm really disappointed as I'm sure you are too, but I'll be back. This is a promise that I'm fine, just a pain, but I'm in a good mood.”
Mr. Solo Dolo returned to Coachella for the first time since 2019 on Sunday (April 21) as a special guest added for Weekend Two, but his stay was short-lived when he broke his leg while walking off stage to approach fans during a “Memories” performance.
Cudi was transported and received medical attention.
“Hey guys, so I broke my leg today at the show [forehead smack emoji]. just out of the hospital,” he wrote after the injury. “I've never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy. I want to thank you all for your concerns and wishes!! I love it man. I heard her laugh even when I was offstage. It made me smile out loud.”
