Almost three weeks Previously, Kid Cudi broke his third leg when he jumped off stage during his Coachella set, resulting in an injury that left him with no choice but to cancel his upcoming tour. The rapper has since shared a health update with his fans, proving that he really wasn't being dramatic – the images he shared of his recent x-rays show that nearly a dozen screws were placed in his leg during the surgery.
“I got my boot! The road to recovery has begun,” Cudi wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Check out some x-rays after the surgery, I wanted to see how real this shit was. I'm a cyborg now 🤣 ✌🏾.” The musician had shared a brief update a few days earlier, letting fans know his cast was being removed and replaced with a boot. In responses, other people with leg injuries shared photos of themselves covered in boots , raised limbs, to which he replied: “I want a black one!!!”
Cudi hasn't shared a full timeline for his recovery, but he did note right after Coachella that he had a broken heel bone. “I'm going into surgery now and there will be a lot of recovery time,” he said at the time. “We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better so I can be out there in top shape to piss you all off. There's just no way I'm going back in time to give 100%. The injury is much more serious than I thought.”
The tour, announced in support of Cudi's latest studio album, Insano, was scheduled to kick off in July with special guest Pusha T. “We'll be back with new tour dates as soon as possible, and I can't wait to get back out there with you guys and see how we do,” he wrote. “I'm so sorry fam and I love you so much, thanks for the endless love and support. I'm really disappointed as I'm sure you are too, but I'll be back. This is a promise.”
