Killer Mike has announced his new album, Songs for sinners and saintswhich is set to drop this Friday, August 2. As a teaser, the rapper shared his new rendition of “From the Block” from his first single “HUMBLE ME.” Check it out below.
Mike's gospel group, The Mighty Midnight Revival, will be performing together in concert. Songs for sinners and saintswhich is presented as an epilogue to the Grammy-winning album. “I had a year to live with MIGUEL “I realized I had more to do with this sound before I could move forward,” Mike explained in a statement. “For me, this is a testimony. When I was growing up, an important part of church service was for people to have the opportunity to stand up and give public testimony about their trials, tribulations and triumphs.”
He continued: “After the festive atmosphere that followed MIGUEL I was reminded that trials never cease, but God is always with me and this is a testimony of my tumultuous times, my trials, and my continued triumph despite doubt, open hatred, and fear. I am here to speak to my fellow sinners and saints.
Mike is headed to a three-day residency at New York’s Blue Note Jazz Club from July 29-31. The 10:30 p.m. ET show on Wednesday, July 31 will feature special guest El-P and will be streamed live on Mike’s site. YouTube ChannelI.
